your peace, joy, and happiness!
Our minds are amazing. We interpret signals from our world with amazing speed, and our minds align that signal with the billions of signals it has received before, and then identifies what to think. Should we be afraid? Sad? Happy? Overwhelmed? Angry? After this moment, our mind sends signals to other parts of us, like our heart, our lungs, our nerve centers, to prepare them for managing their role in the situation. Very little of this makes its way into our consciousness right away – our mind is a self-propelled machine.
This site is a personal project for me. I am not a therapist, self-help coach, psychologist, or in any way an authority on mental health or the science of mind-rewiring, or neuroscience. I’m not the one to ask for advice. However, I have been a successful business person and philanthropist. I’ve also seen my life challenged and pressed to extremes, and felt the shame, isolation, and hopelessness that one feels when recovering from trauma.
My life as I knew it was taken away, I had to sell a business. Relationships quickly disappeared. The core of my identity was blown to pieces. I was in shock for the better part of 18 months before I could think about my future.
It was then that I noticed. I looked around and saw others who were broken. I saw many battling depression. I saw successful people with mental blocks that held them back. It was like a filter.
I also noticed that most of us didn’t have a clue what to do about it. Where to go for reliable information. To learn about different strategies, techniques, and exercises that can help. I began learning.
Recovery is possible. Joy is available to all of us. Our minds are amazing, but they need our help. Look around here, follow the links, join the conversation, share your thoughts with me.
